Columbus Day weekend is almost here. If you’re looking for something unique and fun to do after shopping for a new home near Marietta Square, then you should walk on over to Chalktoberfest on Marietta Square. The Chalkfest has become a well-known, popular family fun event and annual fundraiser for the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art. This year along with the amazing street art of Chalkfest, Marietta’s first Craft Beer Festival will join in the locally sponsored art event with additional beverages, music, and fun. Moving forward the combined festivals will be known as the Marietta Chalktoberfest.
Chalkfest + Craft Beer Festival
The new Chalktoberfest takes place this Saturday-Sunday, October 10-11th, and enjoying the chalk art is free to the public. Marietta Cobb Museum of Art plans to have approximately 50 sponsored, professional artists involved in “painting” the streets of Marietta. This year, on Sunday only, check out the new, all-ages arts and crafts activity area called Creative Kids. The new Craft Beer festival portion of Chalktoberfest also takes place both days between 11:00 – 5:00. Sample over 100 different craft beers as you stroll around the event. Advance tickets can be purchased via online. They recommend buying tickets before arriving to save time and money. Additionally, there will be plenty of free live music from local artists to keep you moving and grooving. So come on out and watch professional chalk artists creatively paint the streets, eat some great food, enjoy some quality craft beer, and shop with local vendors as you and yours experience a wonderful day walking around the beautiful Square of Marietta.
