Christmas Tree Recycling in Woodstock – Annual “Chip and Dip”

Once the hustle and bustle of Christmas has come and gone and you begin taking down your decorations, be sure to continue thinking green and recycle your tree! Brock Built would like to invite residents of the Oakhurst community in Woodstock to participate in this environmentally-friendly initiative sponsored by Keep Georgia Beautiful. For many families in the area, the Christmas Tree Chip and Dip has become a fun post-holiday tradition. Bring your tree to Olde Rope Mill Park beginning December 26, 2014 to be fed into the chipper.* The following week, you can “dip” into the free mulch that has been created by the donated trees and save it for your springtime planting. On January 4, 2015, be sure to pick up free tree seedlings from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and enjoy coffee and donuts, too! Much like the City of Woodstock encourages its residents to think green during the holiday season, Brock Built encourages its home buyers to make energy-efficient choices through its innovative GreenSmart program. All of the homes in our popular Woodstock community, Oakhurst, are constructed using earth-friendly features like radiant barrier roofing, house wrap, spray-on fiberglass insulation, water conserving plumbing fixtures, high-efficiency light bulbs and ENERGY STAR appliances. Not only are homes in Oakhurst GreenSmart, but they have managed to capture the hearts of many Woodstock residents, too! Homeowners in this community enjoy scenic treeline views, unique streetscapes, community gardens, walking trails and outstanding amenities like a Jr. Olympic sized pool and a grand clubhouse. Even better, the community is just two miles away from the vibrant downtown area.
