Happy Holidays to everyone in the Atlanta area! If you’re looking for some Seasonal fun things to do tonight, tomorrow, this weekend or the next, then you should check out a few of these holiday events near our Marietta and Norcross new home communities.

Marietta’s Winter Wonderland

Marietta Square holiday events near new home communitiesThe Historic Marietta Square will transform into a nostalgic Winter Wonderland this Holiday Season.  Features are to include an open-air ice skating rink, Santa’s Workshop, multi-story Christmas Tree and the inaugural New Year’s Eve Celebration.


While the Historic Marietta Square is transformed into a Winter Wonderland for the holiday season, something new and exciting has arrived this year – a charming ice skating rink.  Located at the southwest corner of Glover Park, the ice skating rink is now open and will remain open until Jan. 4. Santa’s workshop will be open to visitors Dec. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19-24. Be sure to have your picture taken with Santa.  Santa’s hours: Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sundays, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Weekdays, 21-23: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.;  and the last day to see Santa on the Square!!!! – Thursday, December 24: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Note: The line to meet Santa closes one hour before his workshop closes. Marietta Parks and Recreation and the Marietta Business Association sponsor this event each year.

Sparkling Holidays in Norcross

This time of the year the City of Norcross offers plenty of excellent and fun things to do for adults and children to make the Christmas and Holiday Season merry and bright. SPARKLE! A celebration of kids, creativity, and magic in Norcross, is a special, magical place. Imagine a place where elves peek-a-boo thru the trees or behind a blooming plant. A place where horse-drawn carriage rides whisks a family along the streets and where you can have your child’s picture made with Santa Claus himself. This is what you can expect during SPARKLE in Norcross. We hope you and yours have a chance to enjoy any and all of their events.


The traditional lighting of the downtown Norcross community Christmas Tree will be held in Thrasher Park on Friday, December 4, at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy holiday music provided by the Norcross First United Methodist Church. Santa will be busy checking his list in his workshop in the park and will be available for photos with all the good little boys and girls. Enjoy free hot cocoa and cookies (while supplies last), courtesy of the Lions Club and the Norcross Masonic Lodge. The holiday movie (“Kung Fu Panda Holiday”) will be shown on the big screen while you wait in line to meet Santa. Relish in the sounds of the Salvation Army Brass Band as the annual Red Kettle Bell campaign kicks off. In all their grandeur and adorned with festive holiday colors, the Budweiser Clydesdales will make be making a special appearance at the Christmas Tree Lighting. Join in on the awe and excitement on  *Photos with Santa are complimentary.


Enjoy the enchanting journey into five beautiful homes from yesteryear and today during the delightful Historic Norcross Holiday Tour of Homes on December 5, 2015, from 10 AM to 5 PM and the Candlelight Tour from 6 PM to 9 PM. Hosted by the Downtown Development Authority of Norcross, the homeowners of these magical houses welcome guests into their incredibly decorated houses – all dressed up for the Christmas season! Our newest Norcross community jewel will be decorated and on display, too! The City of Norcross will shine brightly with thousands of sparkling lights and visitors are guaranteed a delightful excursion as they peruse the homes, charming shops, and restaurants of downtown Norcross.
