Marietta Schools Foundation’s Red, White and Big Blue celebration will begin at 6 p.m. at Northcutt Stadium. On tap are live music, fun houses, Rita’s Ice, Williamson Brothers BBQ and one of the best views of the Marietta fireworks. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Mentoring for Leadership program, and admission is $3 per person with BBQ costing $6 per plate.
For the city of Marietta, the day will start bright and early with a parade featuring more than 2,000 participants and 110 entries. Starting from Roswell Street Baptist Church, the parade will wind its way to North Marietta Parkway. Afterwards, stick around for a fun-filled festival with a concert from Scott Thompson at noon, 2 p.m. bell ringing ceremony, float contest awards at 2:15 p.m., concert from Greg Bates at 8 p.m. and a spectacular fireworks display that will illuminate the sky at dark.
Enjoy an unbeatable view of the parade and fireworks at the Strand Theatre, which is located on the square. 100 people will be able to watch the parade from the theatre’s roof top, and 120 will be admitted for the fireworks viewing. Admission for the parade is $10 per person, and admission for the fireworks is $15 per person.
