All Aboard for Holiday Events Near Cobb County Homes at Cloverhurst

Kennesaw holiday events Located in the heart of Kennesaw, the historic railroad Depot in downtown Kennesaw serves as a reminder of the town’s past and as the centerpiece for many of the city’s events and activities. This December, The Depot will once again be transformed into the “Grand Central Station” for holiday fun. The city of Kennesaw will officially commence the holiday season with a full day of activities on Saturday, December 7.  The day’s festivities will begin at noon with a parade featuring costumed characters, decorated floats, marching bands and live reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh down Main Street. Afterwards, the holiday cheer continues with live music and dance performances, a variety of food and gift vendors, free snow tubing down Depot Hill, a free snow playground, trackless train rides, a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables and more. Finally, the city’s celebrations will conclude with their annual tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. However, while the city’s events will officially be over after the lighting of the tree, residents are invited to embark on a Polar Express adventure at the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History beginning at 6 p.m. Visitors to the museum will be greeted by a train conductor and hobo, just like in the movie, before having the opportunity to watch elves make toys in their holiday shop, write a letter to Santa, create holiday crafts and get their picture taken with jolly Old Saint Nick himself. During the event, light refreshments and hot chocolate will be served and a model train layout will also be on display.
