Changes Abound in West Midtown
The Westside and West Midtown Atlanta have certainly changed over the last decade. To date, a projected $1 billion has been invested in this part of West Atlanta by developers and others that intend to transform the former industrial landscape. Twenty years ago large parts of this area were basically empty industrial zones on the weekends. Many residents from north metro Atlanta would often cut through these less trafficked streets as they made their way to downtown sporting events or concerts. Steve Brock and his Brock Built team recognized the great opportunities for new residential construction growth west of the downtown connector. In the late 90s, they began building homes in the Westside area now popularly known as West Midtown.
New West Atlanta Homes, New Charter School
Well before other new communities began dotting the area, Steve Brock had a clear vision of the potential quality of life this revitalized part of Atlanta would provide to new homeowners and residents. The leadership of the WACS offered their quality vision to change public funded education and offer a unique academic experience to students of all racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. Brock Built believes this is a great fit for the students and neighborhood development of West Highlands. Just as the area and new community keep growing, so has the new charter school. Since 2013, the Westside Atlanta Charter School has seen enrollment increase by 70% and now has a long wait list.
