Very Likable for Homeowners and Buyers in Woodstock GA

Last week the Woodstock City Council voted to approve two items – one that has been under consideration for several years and the other for a few months.  Both of these items are great news for property owners and residents in Woodstock Ga. We’re especially excited for all of the new homeowners and homebuyers at Oakhurst in Woodstock.

Vendor Approved

The first one is that vendor plans for the Woodstock amphitheater have been approved. This amphitheater will be located downtown in the Park at City Center and will be the new home for the Woodstock Summer Concert Series and other great local events for residents and home owners to enjoy for years to come. This is gonna be so great and it’s only a few minutes away from Oakhurst, our new home community in Woodstock GA. The contract plans will feature a permanent bandshell/ bandstand, grass terraced and lawn seating for up to 6000 people, plenty of green landscaping, updated restroom facilities, and premium outdoor audio/video equipment with sound tech stations. Over the last five years, the project has gone through several design efforts towards cutting costs around additional amenities such as a concession stand, but here’s the last image available from the woodstockga.gov website from back in March 2015. These may be updated again soon so check back or contact the City of Woodstock for questions. new amphitheater plans approved in woodstock ga

Property Tax Rollback

The next piece of local news in Woodstock GA is possibly even more awesome and economically exciting for existing and new Oakhurst homeowners. On Aug 24th, the Woodstock City Council planned to hold it’s second public hearing about the proposed 2015-2016 property tax rate. As of Tues Aug 25th they adopted a 2015-2016 property tax of 6. 992 mills, a revenue-neutral rollback from last year’s 7.25. The rollback decision stems from news regarding the city’s property tax digest being up 8.4 so far this year. City finance director Robert Porche told the council that about 300 assessment appeals remain to be decided. Porche said he expected “some movement” in the final digest as a result of the appeals, although he said it appears the changes would be less than in 2014. The newly adopted millage rate for the City of Woodstock should actually result in a tax decrease for existing homeowners. We think all homeowners will enjoy that during the next property tax season.  oakhurst street in woodstock ga
